MBA Students Attend MIPIM in Cannes, France
First year real estate MBA students recently returned from Cannes, France March 6-9 after attending MIPIM 2012, the international real estate property and investment convention. This marks the seventh year that the Wisconsin Real Estate Program has sent a delegation to MIPIM.

Jaime Luque to Join UW Real Estate Faculty
The Real Estate Department is pleased to announce that Jaime Luque, currently visiting professor at Carlos III University of Madrid, will be joining our faculty as an assistant professor starting this semester. Jaime will strengthen our presence in the financial side of real estate. He has a co-authored paper on repo markets in press at Journal of Economic Theory, and has research interests in both financial and urban economics. The economic news has been pretty darn good of late. Employment is up and consensus estimates are looking for about 200,000 new jobs to be reported for February this Friday on top of the 241,000 jobs created in January. The unemployment rate is coming down, consumer confidence is up, and automobile sales were at a 15 million run rate in February, the highest in five years. What's not to like?
