The Program
International real estate can be both high-risk and high-reward. It’s a field that demands highly trained professionals who understand the complexities of global markets and the details of real estate assets. In the past, the path to becoming an expert in international real estate had been unclear. Now the Global Real Estate Master brings together top international business schools and the best real estate training to provide the unique preparation needed to become a global leader.
As a student or recent graduate of these schools, your education and training in international real estate is just the beginning. With a semester at Wisconsin in the Global Real Estate Master program, you add depth, breadth and a competitive edge to your career.
Two Phases
- In the first phase of the GREM program, you complete your preparatory training at one of three partner schools. All GREM partners require the same high level of instruction in the areas of finance, economics, and business administration, and each school offers its own variety of complementary courses.
- In the second phase of the GREM program, your semester at Wisconsin runs from mid-January to mid-May. It includes extensive classroom and applied-learning opportunities:
A minimum of five courses in real estate, including:
Valuation and Feasibility Analysis
Real Estate and Urban Land Economics
Real Estate Capital Markets
Commercial Real Estate Development
Topics in Global Real Estate MarketsTour a major U.S. real estate market to observe and study real estate projects in action and to network with executives and other industry leaders.
Interactive professional development opportunities in and out of the classroom.
Prominent guest speakers, alumni events, real estate club meetings and other activities will sharpen your networking skills, build relationships with your peers, and forge connections with a group of real estate professionals noted for their strong ties — Wisconsin real estate alumni.
Past guest speakers at Wisconsin Real Estate Program and Real Estate Club events have included:
- Clay Nesler, President for Global Energy and Sustainability, Building Efficiency division, Johnson Controls
- Todd Lillibridge, Chief Executive Officer and President, Lillibridge Healthcare Services
- Nicholas Billotti, Chief Executive Officer, Turner International
- John Gates, Chairman and CEO, PortaeCo
Build Your Network
Your international professional network starts in the classroom when you join students from around the world during your GREM semester in Wisconsin. Wisconsin and our partner schools attract the best and brightest students in real estate. You will benefit from the range of their experiences and build common bonds that will last a lifetime.
As a graduate, you become an alumnus not only of the partner school where you began your program, but also a member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, expanding your global professional network and building a bridge for future international collaboration.
As a graduate of GREM, you have the edge on advancing your career in international real estate.
"The real estate industry has become global and our schools are becoming global. This unique partnership leverages obvious synergies across the four institutions to the benefit of our students, future global leaders in business."
- Bernard Ramanantsoa, dean of HEC Paris
