Vision
Provide leading administrative and financial management practices to the Wisconsin
School of Business within the UW System and AACSB
Mission
Wisconsin School of Business administration and financial management provides consistent,
accurate, high quality, timely and responsive conference and facility, financial
management and human resource services to internal School of Business personnel,
campus, system and external clients, including, but not limited to the UW Foundation
and the Center for Advanced Studies in Business (CASB)
Key Objectives and Metrics
- Accurate and timely Information for decision-making
Metrics - Using historical information as a basis, develop a framework and reporting
mechanism to provide information useful for resource allocation decision-making
- Education and training
Metrics – Establish offerings to educate/reinforce financial information resources
available to personnel within the school and provide ongoing support for new tools/systems
as introduced (e-Reimbursement, Human Resource System (HRS), etc.)
- Efficient use of resources
Metrics – Consider/identify areas where opportunities for transactional process
redesign may exist to minimize redundant work flows
- Quality service delivery
Metric – Periodic field surveys to solicit new service and service delivery feedback
Top Priorities
Financial Management
- Develop primary sources and uses of funds for periodic reporting
- Develop practical/useful budgets and, as warranted, actual versus budget, reporting
mechanisms at department and auxiliary operations level
- Review for redundant transaction/workflow process opportunities
Longer Term Strategic Issues
Developing a clear view of key forecasted funding sources and uses to meet strategic
goals and objectives
