Why Wisconsin

The Wisconsin School of Business has developed an Executive MBA Program for experienced, high-potential managers who wish to earn a graduate degree without interrupting their careers.  The program offers a lock step cohort program that meets every other Friday and Saturday for 21 months.

Highly Relevant Curriculum

Courses taught in the program are specifically designed to be relevant to executives who will be leading businesses in the 21st century.

The first year of the program includes specialized courses in various business functions such as economics, accounting, marketing, and finance. It also addresses issues such as organizational change, business communications, teamwork, and corporate real estate. The second year features courses that are designed to enhance breadth and perspective. In particular, the second year curriculum emphasizes financial management, business strategy, and global business issues.

A crucial component of the curriculum of the Executive MBA program is a required international trip in the spring of the second year, at a point when students can draw on and integrate what they have learned in an international context.

Impressive Classmates

Executive MBA participants are high-potential working executives with extensive professional and leadership experience.

Since the program began, more than 26 percent of participants have been women. Approximately 75 percent of students have been partially or fully sponsored by their employers. Students come from a broad range of organizations, industries and job functions, providing a rich network of peer professionals, including CEOs, physicians, attorneys, accountants, technical services directors and marketing VPs.

State of the Art Facilities

The school opened a new $40.5 million east wing of Grainger Hall in Fall 2008. The new wing is devoted entirely to MBA education at the Wisconsin School of Business, offering state of the art classrooms as well as expanded lounge and work space for our Executive MBA students.

Executive MBA program participants often travel from far beyond the Madison area and all have the option of enjoying outstanding overnight private accommodations in the Fluno Center for Executive Education.  Located only two blocks from Grainger Hall, the Fluno Center is a $24 million, eight-floor facility combining state-of-the-art technology with a relaxed residential setting. Its 100 executive residence rooms provide program participants with convenient and comfortable overnight accommodations.

"I knew that getting my Executive MBA would be a rewarding experience, but I never thought the rewards would go so far beyond the degree. The diverse group of professionals I worked with as team members, faculty, and classmates brought a much greater learning experience than the curriculum could ever indicate and have provided an esteemed group of colleagues to continue relationships with, even after graduation."
