There is no denying that working toward an Executive MBA degree requires a serious commitment. This is intended to be a rigorous program and there may well be some activities you will need to postpone while pursuing your degree. On the other hand, the program is specifically designed to match the needs of busy executives. And the comparatively short duration of the program means the rewards for all the hard work involved are never too far from sight.
A very diverse group of people earn an Executive MBA. What they share is a sincere desire to succeed in business by obtaining an MBA degree and a willingness to work hard toward achieving that goal. Our target years of work experience is 8. Our target years of managerial experience is 5. The incoming class in 2010 had an average of 15 years of experience, an average of 8 years of managerial experience, and successful careers in a variety of professions. Tuition for the 2012-2013 academic year is approximately $39,000. The tuition for the 2013-2014 academic year will be set in the summer of 2012. It will change at the graduate business rate approved by the legislature and the Regents, or 5%, whichever is less.
The faculty who teach in the Executive MBA Program have extensive real world experience. They know both business theory and business practice. One of the major benefits of an Executive MBA Program is that the experiences of your fellow students will help link theory to application.
65% of our students receive some financial assistance from their employers for their schooling. An employer must agree to give the employee the necessary time off to attend classes and support their pursuit of the degree.
The School of Business is proud of its ongoing partnership with Wisconsin and Midwestern business leaders. To date, many of the leading companies, large and small, have sponsored executives in the program. Take a look at a partial listing.
Sponsoring an executive is an excellent way for employers to enhance skills and reward their high-potential managers. At the same time, the company benefits from the networking that takes place during the program. Many companies find support for an Executive MBA Program to be a powerful tool in recruiting top managers.
There are a number of advantages. One important difference is the close interaction with both the faculty and fellow students. Students remain with one group of classmates throughout the program, providing continuity and invaluable mutual support.
Another advantage of the Executive MBA Program is that the class is composed of individuals whose business background enables them to enrich the learning environment with practical examples and personal experiences. The Executive MBA Program combines textbook learning with real-world experience, producing a challenging, stimulating learning environment that provides the maximum return for the time and money invested.
