About the Conference:
Every year, The Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Conference welcomes the vast business community of Wisconsin for a direct business-to-business exchange of sustainability experiences and ideas. The 4th Annual Conference served as a resource for Wisconsin businesses interested in implementing more sustainable business practices.
Holding a green conference:

The 2011 Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council Conference was committed to making the conference a “green” conference. $10 from each ticket contributed to the cost of carbon off-sets for the conference. Bus transportation was available from various cities throughout the state to reduce miles traveled. At the conference, stainless steel water bottles were provided and a vegetarian lunch was served. Speaker presentations and other materials were available on bamboo flash drives instead of paper. All measures taken in the course of the event ensured that the conference had a minimal ecologic footprint.

This conference was entirely planned and hosted by a team of University of Wisconsin-Madison students interested in sustainability. Coming from a variety of majors, these students agree that businesses have a powerful role in securing a new green economy and leading us toward a more sustainable world.
